It's time to start preparing for the next school year! Let's go through what that looks like for us as we homeschool year round. Well the very first thing I do is go into our classroom and organize everything from top to bottom. I sweep and mop the floor and just wipe everything down. Then I start looking at all the things I have for supplies as this is the time of year to get everything on a really good sale. I try and keep a good amount of basic supplies in the classroom at all times because I never know exactly what we will need, what we might need to change, etc.

So we have basic pencils, coloring supplies, papers for writing and drawing and of course notebooks and folders. From those few things I can do so much, however every year I see mom's asking what was your favorite item to get for your homeschool that makes life easier and for me that is a handful of items that I don't think I could do so well without.

I use our HP printer often and with that I can use the instant ink program to save me all sorts of money and never have to worry about changing things up that morning and being out of ink or paper and having to take Jazz out and go and throw our day off with a shopping trip first thing. Feel free to check it out here. I also love my laminator. It was one of the first things I ever bought personally for our homeschool journey and the reason being is as she grow I can reuse the same things and just go more in depth with whatever it is. I have cute diy puzzles and games I have printed and made with the help of my Scotch thermal laminator. I made custom sheets for her to practice her name, alphabet, numbers, etc. My sister also bought us this Melissa and Doug Daily Calendar and it has been so helpful in teaching her what day and month it is and it helps us get excited about things as I can put activities on it as well.

With all these things honestly I think the best thing I could have ever gotten was just joining some groups on social media and finding a good homeschool group that is local. We can have all sorts of materials and items to help us but the best thing is friends and others who understand, not just for ourselves but for our children.

As we all prepare for the next season of homeschooling weather it be your first, 4th or last, I hope you give yourself patience and the will to keep going. The energy to do it most days and get that much needed break in between.

Pics of our work in progress. I go and take everything off the shelves, and wipe everything down. Still have to do the big black shelf, but the bookshelf got done today, my desk top has been cleaned twice already and Jazz keeps playing and adding more chaos, but it is looking nice. We still got a little bit to do but I can see we have many items ready to go. I did also sharpen all colored pencils and a good stack of regular to go our first few days. No stopping for a broke pencil.

Anyone else do this? I am always told by so many they just can't but I truly believe it is because so many have seen and heard of meal...
